ABOUT 3 KAPU KAWHE 4 ORGANISATIONS

3 Kapu Kawhe 4 Organisations is a short-term mentoring programme that advances Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace. 3 Kapu Kawhe 4 Organisations helps to foster cultural intelligence and understanding, set individuals who actively contribute to employee-led D&I initiatives up for success, develop empathetic and culturally competent leaders, provide the conditions for real-life unconscious bias training, and bring people/communities within the organisation closer together.

3 Kapu Kawhe 4 Organisations puts ethnically-diverse junior staff (mentees) across the coffee table from a senior leader (mentors) for 3 life changing conversations. We deliberately pair mentors and mentees from vastly different backgrounds to connect individuals who may otherwise not cross paths at work. Pairs meet three times a year for one-hour long conversations in a relaxed meeting space, preferably at a local cáfe.

By the end of the programme, we hope that both mentors and mentees leave with increased professional and/or cultural insights and awareness, broadened worldviews and networks, and deeper empathy.

PURPOSE

  • To bring people/communities within the organisation closer together; and
  • To build the organisation’s pipeline of ethnically diverse future leaders.
