Multiethnic Young Leaders recently hosted two soft launches, one in Auckland and the other in Wellington, for the Rangatahi Leadership Opportunities Database (RLOD).
The Rangatahi Leadership Opportunities Database (RLOD) is the country’s first free, single-source, open-access database that provides crowdsourced information on all leadership opportunities available to young people under 35 in Aotearoa.
An inclusive Aotearoa begins with our leaders. This includes unlocking the potential of all young people, our next generation of leaders. The database seeks to make access to youth leadership more equitable, transparent and accessible to all rangatahi in New Zealand. It is a small but important step to diversifying the start of the leadership pipeline and increasing the pool of next-generation leaders in this country.
At the soft launch events, Multiethnic Young Leaders took guests through a presentation on the RLOD and offered a sneak peek of the website. Guests included representatives from the Asia New Zealand Foundation, Ara Taiohi, Ministry for Women, Ministry of Youth Development, US Embassy New Zealand and more.
The official launch of the Rangatahi Leadership Opportunities Database is next week, Tuesday the 10th May 2022, during Youth Week. We look forward to sharing the database with you all and growing our community of diverse young leaders across Aotearoa New Zealand.
The project lead for the RLOD is Marie Ysabel Landingin, a Filipino-Kiwi born in Manila, raised in Tāmaki Makaurau, and based in Kirikiriroa.
